Tell me More

Cruella, Lockdown and a Quiet Place sequel are the 3 movie titles that will be going head to head come May 28th.

Here is their official synopsis, directors and all other details you need to know.

Cruella – Crime/Comedy

The Disney flick directed by Craig Gillespie was originally slated for a December release but shifted to may 28th and will be available to watch on both Disney plus and local theatres.

Synopsis: A live-action feature film following the evil exploits of Cruella de Vil, the villain from the Disney film, “101 Dalmatians’

Cast: Emma Stone, Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser.

Lockdown – Nollywood Thriller

The Nollywood feature directed by Moses Inwang starts showing in cinemas may 28th

Synopsis: Lockdown follows the coincidental and chaotic meeting of six individuals from different works of life, as a result of a sudden government-imposed lockdown, following the outbreak of a pandemic.

Forced to share the same four walls, professional and character flaws are exposed and an unexpected romance story erupts from the chaos.

Cast in the film are Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Sola Sobowale, Tony Umez, Deyemi Okanlawon, Ini Dima-Okojie, Josh 2 Funny, and more.

A Quiet Place 2 – Horror

The most anticipated sequel for the summer directed by John Krasinki is finally here.

Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence.

Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.

The original title Quiet Place was a huge hit back in 2018 capturing the top spot in its first and third weekends in theaters, becoming Paramount’s most profitable film since 2015’s Mission: Impossible—Rogue Nation, and racking up more than $300 million worldwide in less than two months all with a budget less than $50 Million.

But what about this time, would the same luck apply. by next week we will find out.

In Summary

3 Titles on the same day means screens will have be shared and we are very curious to see how that impacts ticket sales.

Film one distributes both Cruella and Lockdown. Silverbird has domestic rights to a quiet place sequel.

Will distributors give more screens to a Nollywood movie than a disney picture whose lead movie goers adore (La La land) or would be vice versa?

Whatever is the above decision ultimately still puts the revenue of a quiet place 2 in jeopardy.

it might not get much screens as it ought too but does that stop it from hitting double digits opening weekend?

All of this is what makes this exciting and we will keep you updated when official box office figures are released.
