Inkblot, the creative force behind fan-favourite hits like ‘Far from Home’ and ‘A Weekend To Forget’, is set to grace the box office with its first theatrical release of 2024.

With a screenplay from exciting newcomer Janobest Issac, audiences hope Saving Onome is a storytelling tour de Force poised to captivate cinema audiences nationwide.

Directed by the visionary Dimeji Ajibola and produced by Inkblot co-founders Chinaza Onuzo and Zulumoke Oyibo.

As a uniquely Nigerian, the title tells the story of a working-class couple who are forced to do whatever it takes when their daughter requires urgent life-saving medical attention. This thriller combines elements of family, desperation, greed and betrayal to achieve a thoroughly entertaining cinematic experience.

From extraordinary performances by our lead couple Nancy Isime and Olumide Oworu to excellent displays from the supporting cast, including veterans Keppy Ekpeyong, Femi Jacobs, Ashionye Michelle Raccah, acclaimed actors Mary Lazarus, Kelechi Udegbe and famous comedians and skit makers Nasboi and Nosa Rex, Saving Onome continues Inkblot’s tradition of showcasing the best of Nollywood acting talent on the biggest stage.

For Dimeji Ajibola, the celebrated director of Shanty Town, this is his first outing with the Inkblot powerhouse. “I am extremely proud of Saving Onome because it was an ambitious story that allowed me to explore strong themes of family and love whilst working in the thriller vein I am known for,” says Ajibola.

“The cast and crew gave it their all, and I am grateful to Inkblot Productions for this opportunity. With this film, we did something special. I can’t wait for everyone to enjoy our beautiful film.”

Saving Onome showcases Inkblot’s continued desire to bring thrilling, relatable films to our Nigerian audience. We believe strongly in telling stories that resonate widely,” said Chinaza Onuzo, who remains optimistic that quality Nigerian films with universal appeal will continue to find a local and global audience.

Saving Onome stands out as one of our more ambitious projects. We’re so grateful to the director and the amazing cast and crew for bringing this story to life.  It’s a classic story with a fresh African perspective, reflecting today’s blurred lines between heroes and villains and the choices that define them.

We’re looking forward to the spirited debates following its release in cinemas nationwide from April 5th 2023,” Onuzo added.
