Polar Films Hosts Private Screening for New Short Film

Polar Films Productions and BluHouse Studios hosted its cast, crew, press, and special invitees to the private screening of its new short film, I Hate It Here. The film is directed by acclaimed music video director, Dammy Twitch.

I Hate It Here follows the story of a precocious six-year-old girl, Funmike, who decides to take matters into her own hands when her father’s relentless mistreatment of her mother becomes unbearable. It is based on a story, Rat Killer, by Chisom Okugini.

Set in Ibadan, the film is produced by Blessing Uzzi with Muhammed Atta Ahmed as cinematographer. Tiwalola Adebola-Walter plays the role of Funmike with star cast like Nse Ikpe-Etim, Adebowale Adedaye (Mr. Macaroni), and Toyin Oshinaike.

Apampa Owolabi Oluwadamilola, popularly known as Dammy Twitch, is a music video director, who has directed the music videos of several top artists like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Fireboy, Omah Lay, and Falz, amongst many others. He is the founder of Polar Films Productions, “a production company that houses a variety of directors around the world, including himself.”

On the other hand, Blessing Uzzi is a film producer and director. She is the founder of BluHouse Studios. She is the director of No Man’s Land (2021), which stars Seun Kuti, Sola Sobowale, Omowunmi Dada, and Femi Branch.

Summary

Though the film has had a private screening, nothing has yet been said about its launch date. We will surely let you know when a date is announced.
