“Call of My Life” Delivers Strong Box Office Trajectory With ₦498 Million And Counting, Road To 600M

The Story⚡

Call of My Life has shown impressive staying power at the box office, opening strongly, posting a positive second-weekend hold, and continuing to lead the charts with steady audience turnout well into its fourth week.

Tell Me More

Call of My Life follows Soluchi (Uzoamaka Power), a dedicated call centre agent and hopeless romantic recovering from a painful breakup with her ex-boyfriend Kalu (Zubby Michael), who found her affectionate nature overwhelming. When a customer service call connects her with Eli (Andrew Yaw Bunting), a Ghanaian news anchor back in Nigeria, what begins as a professional interaction gradually develops into something deeper. The story explores Soluchi’s emotional healing, family dynamics, friendships, and the realities of modern relationships in Lagos.

Directed by Dammy Twitch in his feature film debut (following a successful career directing music videos for major artists like Burna Boy and Davido), the film was written by and stars Uzoamaka Power. It is produced by Blessing Uzzi for Bluhouse Studios and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment. The supporting cast includes Beverly Osu, Nkem Owoh, Patience Ozokwor, Broda Shaggi, Justin UG, with musical contributions from Johnny Drille and Cobhams Asuquo. Filming took place across Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu.

Box Office Performance

Here is the key trajectory of Call of My Life at the Nigerian/West African box office:

Day 1–3 (Opening Weekend: 15–17 May 2026): ₦76.9 million (3-day gross). It opened at number one and dethroned the Michael Jackson biopic, Michael.

Day 7(First Week: 21st May 2026): It completed its first week run with a gross of  ₦126.3 million, with a total cumulative of  ₦128.1 million.

Day 10 (Sunday 24, May 2026): The film had a gross of ₦94.3 million by its second weekend.
Day 14 (Thursday 28, May 2026): It further had a gross of ₦174.5 million, bringing it to a cumulative of ₦303.4 million by its second week run.

Day 17 (Sunday, 31 May 2026): The film closed out May at number one, outperforming new releases including Ajosepo 2, grossing ₦89.9 million.

Day 21 (Thursday 4 June 2026): The film reached a total of ₦126.7 million, which eventually pushed its cumulative total to ₦434.2 million, in its third week run.

Day 24 (Sunday 7 June 2026): Still retaining the number one spot, the film had a gross of ₦63.7 million in its fourth weekend, bringing its cumulative total to ₦498.4 million.

If this trajectory continues with steady midweek and third-weekend holds, Call of My Life is well-positioned to become one of the highest-grossing Nollywood romance films of the year.

In Summary

Call of My Life could realistically reach ₦600–700 million or more by the end of its theatrical run if it maintains momentum through June. This would place it among the top Nollywood romantic comedies in recent years and further validate the commercial strength of original, character-driven local stories outside peak holiday periods. The film is still showing in cinemas nationwide.
