The newly released Hollywood film, The Book of Clarence is a biblical comedy-drama film written and directed by Jeymes Samuel. This film has a long list of fantastic soundtracks featuring music artists from different nations including our very own Yemi Alade and Adekunle Gold.

In an interview with the director, Jeymes Samuel, a question was asked concerning the soundtrack and its overall importance for the Hollywood film to have about an 11-track compilation.
He replied saying “I come from an age where we celebrate the score, right? We don’t really celebrate score anymore and then soundtracks are byproducts with artists, but they are not related to the film and they don’t weave in and out of the score”.

The Book of Clarence tells the story of a young man living in A.D 33, struggling to find a better life, he was captivated by the power of the rising Messiah and soon risk everything to carve a path to a divine existence.

Jeymes Samuel (born July 27, 1979) is a British singer-songwriter, music producer, director and filmmaker, who also goes by the stage name The Bullitts.
In 2013, Jeymes worked alongside Baz Luhrmann and Jay-Z on the music for the blockbuster The Great Gatsby. He also served as the film’s Executive Music consultant.
Same 2013, he proceeded to debut his directorial debut They Die by Dawn at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas. He wrote and directed this film which coincided with The Bullitt’s debut album ‘They Die By Dawn & Other Short Stories’.
In 2017, Jeymes wrote and directed the short film Legacy, for Jay-Z’s album 4:44. The film starred the Academy Award Winner Susan Sarandon, Ron Perlman, Hirsch Jesse Williams, and Aldis Hodge.
His feature length debut, The Harder They Fall was released in October 2021. Starring Idris Elba, Regina King, LaKeith Stanfield and Jonathan Majors. This film received multiple awards including the NAACP Image Award for Best Film and the BAFTA Award for Best Debut by a British Director.
