Heart of The Hunter is a Spy Thriller film directed by Mandla Dube and adapted from Deon Meyer’s book.
A once feared assassin and freedom fighter’s quiet domestic life in South Africa is interrupted by a desperate plea from the daughter of a trusted old friend whose father was kidnapped – Curled from Deon Meyer’s ‘Heart of The Hunter’.
Starring are Bonzo Khoza, Masasa Mbangeni, Connie Ferguson, Tim Theron, Peter Butler, Nicole Fortuin, Sisanda Henna, Milan Murray, deon Coetzee, Boleng Mogotsi, Wanda Banda, Connie Chiume and many others.
Heart of The Hunter is produced by Scene 23 Production and is set to premiere on Netflix this year.

In September 2023, Netflix at MIP Africa announced its multi-title partnerships with South African filmmakers who will produce a diverse range of films/ TV projects, among which filmmaker Mandla Dube is among. These partnerships include:

Netflix unveils Mandla Dube features Heart of The Hunter and Rom-com Soweto Love Story to be released in the first quarter of 2024.

Mandlankayise Walter Dube is a director, producer, co-screenwriter, and an award-winning South African cinematographer. His diverse work includes documentaries, shorts, theatre, and feature films.
Mandla’s work in feature films includes Tsotsi, The Italian Job, Strike Back, Angel Heart, and Umtunzi we Ntaba.
His 2017 feature film, Kalushi won Best Film of South Africa and Best Original Song at the RapidLion Film Festival and also won the Chairman’s Award at the Zanzibar International Film Festival. Thabo Rametsi won Best Actor at the BRICS Film Festival.
