With Inkblot’s “Japa!”, Screenwriter Tamara Aihie Steps Into The Spotlight

Tamara Aihie, fast-rising Nigerian screenwriter behind “Blood Sisters” is taking the lead as writer for the much-anticipated feature film “Japa!.”

If you’ve been following the Nollywood scene, you’d know that Tamara Aihie has a knack for spinning captivating stories and breathing life into characters. In the last few years, she’s worked on projects that have helped her secure a spot in the screenwriting industry.

Working alongside Inkblot Productions Naz Onuzo, Japa! is her first full-length movie as her previous projects were either TV or web series. Some of her previous writing credits include; “Inspector K”, “On the Real” and “Money.Men.Marriage”

Now, she’s stepping into the spotlight for this new collaboration by Inkblot Productions and 1POD Pictures.

Japa! tells the story of Mezu whose attempts to relocate from Nigeria to the United States in search of greener pastures are obstructed by forces beyond his comprehension. The film stars Jidekene Achufusi, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Seun Ajayi, Mofe Duncan, Layi Wasabi and more.

The movie is set to premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on March 8, 2024.
