Nollywood Titles Coming Out This February
1. Angel Eyes
The title by Kiitan Bukola will premiere in cinemas across the country on the 2nd of February, 2024. It stars Yemi Blaq, Dele Odule, Bolanle Ninalowo, Tina Mba, Jide Kosoko, Ngozi Nwosu, Lolade Okusanya, and others.
2. Orisa
The epic title from Odunlade Adekola will land on Prime Video on the 2nd of February, 2024. This is following the theatrical exhibition of the title, which launched in cinema on the 21st of July, 2023. At the end of its run at the cinema, the flick grossed N127.89 million. It stars Odunlade Adekola, Femi Adebayo, Jide Kosoko, Shaffy Bello, Dele Odule, and others.
3. Redemption Code
The title will begin streaming in cinemas nationwide from the 9th of February, 2024. The movie follows the story of Sade, a young, beautiful city girl who is kidnapped while going about her work duties, and how her fiance rallies around an international coalition of friends in an attempt to effect her rescue.
4. The Silent Intruder
Directed by Mo’Fakorede and produced by Uyoyou Adia, The Silent Intruder tells the story of a married couple who decides to consult a psychologist after their sexual life begins to deteriorate. The story takes a different turn when the psychologist starts to use manipulation to infiltrate the wife’s life.
The film stars Uche Montana, Pere Egbi, Onyekachi Nnochiri, Lucy Francesca Amen, Venita Akpofure, Dotun Oloniyo, and Lydia Achebe. It is executive produced by Pere Egbi. The movie, distributed by FilmOne, will hit the box office on the 9th of February.
5. Dead Serious
The romance comedy title by Moses Inwang stars Sharon Ooja and Sabinus. The movie will launch in cinemas on the 9th of February, 2024. Alongside Sharon Ooja and Sabinus, it stars Nkem Owoh and Deyemi Okanlawon
6. Cheta’M
Cheta’M is an epic set in Igbo land that follows the story of a young teenage couple that find that ‘once in a lifetime’ love, only to be almost separated immediately by forces.
The title will arrive on Showmax on the 9th of February. It has Kingsley Nwachukwu and Oluchi Amajuoyi in the lead role. The series is created by Ifeanyi Barbara Chidi and executive produced by James Kalu Omokwe.
7. I Love You Regardless
Written by Chino Marchie, directed by Chibuike Ibe, and co-produced by Tosin Allen and Titi Joseph, I Love You Regardless follows the story of a veterinarian and a struggling actor. After being conned into getting the same apartment by a shady house agent and homeowner, the two have to live together despite the fact that they are not on good terms with one another.
The film stars top actors like Lateef Adedimeji, Denrele Edun, Eyinna Nwigwe, Tina Mba, Jidekene Achufusi, and others.
The title will launch in cinemas across the country on the 9th of February, 2024.
8. Flawsome
The series will return with the second season on the 12th of February, 2024. The show follows the lives of four industrious friends—Ifeyinwa, Ramat, Ivie, and Dolapo. The show will have Bisola Aiyeola, Ini Dima-Okojie, Sharon Ooja, and Enado Odigie reprising their roles. Returning cast includes Gabriel Afolayan, Baaj Adebule, Shine Rosman, Eso Dike, and others.
9. All is Fair in Love
Slated for release on the 14th of February, 2024, All is Fair in Love will tell the story of two friends and partners, played by Timini Egbuson and Deyemi Okanlawon, who find themselves in a love triangle after falling in love with the same woman. The movie will star South African actress Buhle Samuels.
Other key cast in the movie are Adedimeji Lateef, Juliet Ibrahim, Ireti Doyle, Venita Akpofure, Timilehin Bamtefa, and others.
10. When Are We Getting Married
The second series of the romance web series will debut on the 14th of February, 2024. The show will be available for viewing on the RED TV page on YouTube.
The show started in 2023, telling the challenges young dating Nigerians face. The series will have Immanculata Oko Kasum, playing the role of Edith and Ric Hassani, playing the role of Fenwa, returning as the lead cast.
The show is produced by Ife Olujuyigbe and directed by Orire Nwani in collaboration with Film Trybe. It has Ronke Oshodi, Pelumi Buari, Patrick Doyle, Adekunle Olopade, Neo Akpofure, and others in its cast assemblage.
11. One Too Many
Directed by Kayode Kasum, One Too Many will commence streaming on Netflix on the 23rd of February, 2024. The feature drama is written by Ginika Ozioko and Jeanine Okafor. It tells the story of Adesuwa and her family, who have always had bad experiences with uniformed men. Adesuwa’s son is falsely accused of killing his best friend. She resolves to fight for her son and herself.
The movie stars Dakore Egbuson, Funsho Adeolu, Jide Kosoko, Paul Utomi, Kelechi Udegbe, among many others. One Too Many is produced by Atinuke Akinde and Joy Grant-Ekang. It has Adeoluwa Owu as the cinematographer.
In Summary
As February is known to be the month of love, it is not surprising that most of the titles coming out are love-themed and that the 9th of February is the most anticipated day. It is also interesting to note that six listed titles will go to the box office, one each to Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube, while two will be landing on Showmax.
