3 production companies, Blue Pictures Studios, Sozo Films & Asurf Films have teamed up to produce a Nigerian family comedy title for the big screen called Owambe.
Owambe follows the story of Teju, a young crafty woman who returns from abroad and has to take up her mother’s role in the community. Although she seems sincere to the market women of Isale-Eko, they quickly discover her past is not as it seems.
Kehinde Bankole and Jidekene Achufusi are confirmed in leading roles. Iyabo Ojo, Fathia Balogun, Lina Idoko, Ngozi Nwosu, Tunbosin Aiyedehin, Tope Olowoniyan, Tina Mba, Ogogo, Iya Rainbow and Nimi Adekanmbi are set to star.
Filming for the project has begun with Chris Odeh Producing, KC Obiajulu tapped as director of photography and Tunji Afolayan helming the production design for the star-studded Nigerian family drama. The writers of the feature are credited to Toniah Chukwurah, Olumide Kuti, and Nimi Adekanmbi, with the story credit to Joy Odiete.
Blue Pictures studios explore her IP in this Family comedy drama soon be released to the big screen. This is the second out of 4 Original titles to hit your screens in 2024.
