Here’s a look at what’s coming, from gritty dramas to heartfelt tales.

Grind Season 2 

Grind Season 2 continues Tarela’s relentless hustle through the tough streets of Lagos, where ambition and survival go hand in hand. The series follows Tarela as she faces new obstacles and bigger risks, building on the tension of the first season in a city that never sleeps.

Directed by Orire Nwani and Joshua Tso-Tso, and produced by Josh Olaoluwa and Roberta Orioma of The Clan Production Studios, the show stars Eso Dike as Tarela, alongside Daniel Abua and Rosanne Chikwendu. This next chapter promises to keep viewers hooked with its raw portrayal of Lagos life. Distributed by Prime Video, Grind Season 2 arrives on March 7, 2025.

 

Suky 

Suky tells a gritty story of a man trapped in a prison boxing underworld, fighting for his freedom. The film follows Suky, born into a legendary boxing family, whose life takes a dark turn after a tragic event lands him behind bars, forcing him into brutal underground matches.

Directed by Ola Cardoso and produced by Bamidele Adelusi of Nemsia Studios, Suky stars Tobi Bakre in the lead role, joined by Femi Adebayo, Bimbo Ademoye, and Olarotimi Fakunle. The film blends intense action with emotional stakes, offering a fresh take on resilience. Distributed by Prime Video, it’s set to release on March 7, 2025.

Finding Me 

Finding Me explores a journey of self-discovery, following characters seeking love, confidence, or purpose amid life’s twists. While the full plot remains under wraps, it promises a mix of comedy and drama as its protagonists navigate personal transformation.

Written, directed, and produced by Funke Akindele of The Funke Akindele Network (FAAN), the film features a star-studded cast: Funke Akindele, Shaffy Bello, Dele Odule, Sharon Ooja, Tina Mba, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Omoni Oboli, Omowunmi Dada, Efe Iwara, Joseph Benjamin, Femi Adebayo Salami, and AbdulGafar Abiola (The Cute Abiola). It’s tentatively slated for March 7, 2025, though some sources hint at a later Prime Video release—stay tuned for confirmation.

Baby Farm 

Baby Farm is a chilling tale of baby trafficking, centered on a woman caught in a sinister plot. The story tracks Adanna, who entrusts her unborn twins to an NGO, only to uncover a horrifying network that preys on the vulnerable, pulling her into a fight for justice.

Directed by Kayode Kasum and Walter ‘Waltbanger’ Taylaur, and produced by Mo Abudu of EbonyLife, the series stars Rita Dominic as Adanna, with Joseph Benjamin, Genoveva Umeh, and Langley Kirkwood. It’s a stark look at a grim reality, set to grip viewers. Distributed by Netflix, Baby Farm releases on March 21, 2025.

Cartel 

Cartel dives into the chaotic world of a drug lord, where power and betrayal fuel the stakes. The film follows a trafficking kingpin whose empire unravels as trust erodes, leading to tense confrontations and a battle for control.

Directed by Elvis Chucks, Cartel stars Bolanle Ninalowo in the lead, supported by Broda Shaggi, Clarion Chukwurah, and Chika Ike. Shot by cinematographer Lance Gewer, it promises a hard-hitting theatrical experience. The film hits cinemas on March 7, 2025.

Red Line

Red Line sheds light on sexual harassment and systemic corruption in Nigerian universities, unraveling hidden realities students face. The story follows a student who accuses her professor of harassment, triggering a chain reaction that exposes a web of corruption, with a women’s rights activist stepping in to seek justice.

Directed by Teco Benson and produced by Eno Udo, the film stars Adunni Ade in the lead role, with Sam Dede as the professor and Shaffy Bello as Dr. Adeleke, head of the department, alongside Norbert Young and Tony Akposheri. Adunni Ade shared her passion for the project, noting it’s a vital story for the big screen. Red Line hits cinemas across Nigeria on March 14, 2025.

Cursed Bonds

Cursed Bonds follows a family tormented by a generational curse, unraveling secrets that threaten their survival. The story weaves together betrayal and hidden pasts, drawing tension from a supernatural bind that tests their bonds.

Directed by Tissy Nnachi and produced by Chamberlain Emmanuel of Padmore Entertainment, this Nigeria-Liberia collaboration stars Zubby Michael and Omowunmi Dada alongside Victor Padmore and Grace Weah. Distributed by Blue Pictures, Cursed Bonds hits cinemas on March 21, 2025.

The Masked King 

The Masked King is a historical drama set in 19th-century Nigeria, where power struggles and betrayal shake a kingdom. It follows King Ansa, whose actions force his mother to choose between loyalty and the greater good, amid rising chaos.

Directed by Uduak Patrick and produced by Fitofilms and 7eventh Studio, the film stars Daniel Etim-Effiong as Ansa and Shaffy Bello as his mother, with Uche Montana, Gideon Okeke, and Segun Arinze. It premieres on March 22, 2025, followed by a wide cinema release on March 28.

Labake Olododo 

Labake Olododo is a Yoruba tradition-rich story of a woman rising against oppression in a pre-colonial setting. The film follows Labake as she battles political schemes and betrayal, carving her path with courage and resolve.

Directed by Biodun Stephen and produced by Iyabo Ojo of Fespris Production, it stars Bukunmi Oluwasina in the lead, joined by Femi Adebayo, Odunlade Adekola, and Ibrahim Chatta. Distributed by FilmOne Studios, Labake Olododo arrives in cinemas on March 28, 2025.

Gone 

Gone is a mystery sparked by a grim discovery—a skeleton found on a man’s birthday. The story follows Damola Akinola as his life unravels, revealing layers of love, sacrifice, and betrayal tied to his family’s past.

Directed by Anjola Aluko and Omotola Oke Tbasz, this MultiChoice Talent Factory production stars Paul Nnadiekwe, Tolu Odewumi, and Teniola Aladese. It airs on Africa Magic on March 8, 2025, offering a tense unraveling of secrets.

Everything Light Touches

Everything Light Touches is a coming-of-age drama about an autistic chess prodigy facing loss and survival. The story tracks his journey through grief and growth, finding light amid life’s challenges.

Directed by Elma Baisie and Adejo “Story Priest” Emmanuel, this MultiChoice Talent Factory film stars Eric Emeka and Tope Olowoniyan. It premieres on Africa Magic on March 8, 2025, with Showmax availability still to be confirmed.

I Am Anis

I Am Anis follows Anisola Williams on a day that shifts from joy to dark revelations, inspired by true events. The story tracks her journey as buried secrets unravel, forcing her to face rebellion, repercussions, and a path toward redemption.

Written and directed by Biodun Stephen, with Mannie Oiseomaye as co-writer, and co-produced by Stephen, David Wade Productions, and Shutterspeed Projects, the film stars Shaffy Bello as Anisola, Debo Adedayo (Mr Macaroni), and Lina Idoko as young Anisola, alongside Tina Mba, Rykardo Agbor, and Charles Inojie. It’s a poignant tale of self-discovery streaming exclusively on circuits.tv from March 21, 2025.

The Good Shepherd 

The Good Shepherd follows a man committed to God’s work, tested by a deal with the devil. The story explores his struggle at a dangerous crossroads, where faith and temptation collide with high stakes.

Directed by Just Phabulous and produced by Susan Jimah, the film stars Tony Umez, Susan Jimah, Casey Edema, and Rotimi Adelegan. This limited-release drama hits cinemas from March 21-23, 2025, offering a compelling look at moral conflict.

The Yard

Our Husband 

Our Husband is a chaotic tale of love and rivalry, where rules dissolve in the heat of passion and conflict. The story follows two women entangled with the same man, battling for his heart and their own survival, with only one destined to emerge victorious.

Produced by Rogers Ofime for Africa Magic, the series stars Nancy Isime and Lateef Adedimeji, with supporting roles by Ini Edo and Uche Jombo. It’s a fiery mix of romance and drama set to spark debate. Our Husband premieres on Africa Magic Showcase on March 31, 2025.
