12 pm – “Navigating Your Career as a ‘Director for Hire’ in Nollywood ”
Niyi Akinmolayan is the creative director and founder of Anthill Studios, a media and post-production company that has made significant strides in the Nigerian film and TV Space.
As a director, Niyi has several critical and commercially hits like “Make a move”, “Falling”, “Elevator Baby” “The Arbitration”, “Prophetess” “The wedding party” “Chief Daddy” etc. as well as producing animated movies like “Plaything”, “Adventures of Lola and Chuchu”, “Malika; Warrior Queen” to mention a few.
In 2022, Niyi became the first and only Nigerian director whose director credit passed the N1 Billion Naira mark.
Biodun Stephen is an AMVCA award-winning, professionally trained Nigerian filmmaker. She is a Nigerian director, producer and writer with notable films in her portfolio.
She began her career in the film industry in 2014 with the release of “The Visit” and later went on to release “Picture Perfect”, “Ovy’s Voice”, “Ehi’s Bitters”, and “Breaded Life” which are all critical Nollywood titles in the 21st century.
Biodun Stephen draws inspiration from her personal experiences and that of those around her which she deploys to fuel her excellence in tellings stories that touch the heart and move the minds of audiences’ homes and abroad.
