My Alien Lover follows a Korean prince who finds himself in Yoruba land and falls in love with a Nigerian woman. Their relationship develops against a backdrop of cultural differences, misunderstandings, emotion, and fantasy elements, as the two navigate love across borders, questions of identity, and the practical challenges of understanding someone from an entirely different background. The film blends Korean drama conventions with Nigerian storytelling in a comedy-drama format.
Kemi Ikuseedun, known online as Kemz Mama, stars as the lead female character. She is joined by Korean actor Jong Lee as the prince, with supporting roles from Aji Anje, Renee Ju, Adora, Cute Abiola, Isbae U, Heelarious, Haddy, Oba G, and Agnes Bada. Ikuseedun wrote, directed, and produced the project herself, drawing on her earlier experience with the 2024 release My Sunshine, which she positioned as Nigeria’s first Korean-drama-style production set in a Nigerian context.
Alien My Lover is set in a traditional Yoruba environment rather than a contemporary one, using period-appropriate costumes and settings to highlight the cultural contrast. Dialogue incorporates English and Korean alongside Yoruba phrasing, and the original soundtrack combines Nigerian and Korean musical influences. As with her previous work, the entire production was handled independently, shot, edited, and released directly through Ikuseedun’s Kemzmama YouTube channel, without studio backing or international filming locations.
