“Expendables 4” Guns N53 Million In Ten Days

The Expendable 4, officially titled Expendable 4, is the fourth installment of The Expendable series, an American action movie. The movie is said to have fallen short of box office expectations in the cinemas as compared to the figures from the previous series.

The Expendable is an American action thriller created by David Callaham, written by Sylvester Stallone, and produced by Avi Lerner and Kevin King-Templeton. The Expendables film consists of four series which include The Expendables (2010), The Expendables 2 (2012), The Expendables 3 (2014), Expend4bles (2023), and an ongoing comic book series The Expendables Go To Hell (2021).

Despite the competition with films like Kesari, Blue Beetle, The Nun 2, Equalizer 3, and A Weekend To Forget, Expendible 4 has launched at the Nigerian box office. In its first weekend, the title made N22.14 million and N39.46 million after one week. In ten days, the flick has grossed a total of N53.49 million.

5. Blue Beetle

Blue Beetle is an American superhero film produced by DC Studios and The Safran Company. It was released in Nigerian cinemas on the 18th of August 2023 and made a whopping sum of N66.81 million in ten days. It stars Xolo Mariduena, Adriana Barraza, Damian Alcazar, Raoul Max Trujillo, Susan Sarandon, and George Lopez

Blue Beetle still maintained a good position in the box office rankings as it made a total sum of N132.66 million in its sixth week of release.

The Nun 2 is an American gothic supernatural horror film written by Ian Goldberg, Richard Naing, and Akela Cooper and produced by Peter Safran and James Wan.

The movie tells the story of a priest who was murdered in 1956 and his sister, Irene, who begins to investigate his murder. A smash hit follows as she comes in contact with a powerful demon, Valak.

The Nun 2 in its third week made a sum of N7.90  million. It has so far made a total of N39.19 million in Nigerian cinemas.

3. The Equalizer 3

The Equalizer 3 is the final installment of The Equalizer series, an American vigilante action film directed by Antoine Fuqua. It stars Denzel Washington, Dakota Fanning, David Denman, Sonia Ammar and Remo Girone.

The Equalizer has quite a great audience in the Nigerian market as it made a sum of N115.06 million in its 4th week of release among its contemporaries. It grossed N14.85 million that week.

2. A Weekend To Forget

A Weekend To Forget is the story of a group of seven friends who reunite for a weekend getaway after years of being apart. In a bid to reconnect and bond as friends, old tensions and unresolved issues resurface. The film launched with N18.01 million.

The early numbers of Expendable 4 at the Nigerian box office have been quite impressive. This is despite the discouraging figures the film has made globally. Since its debut, it has grossed only $38 million globally.
