Nne Mgbafor (September 4)

Properties of the Gods (September 4)
After eight years away from filmmaking, Joseph Okechukwu returns with a historical drama centered on the Igbo Osu caste system. The film examines inherited identity, forbidden love, and family loyalty through the stories of people caught within rigid social hierarchies. The cast includes Pete Edochie, Enyinna Nwigwe, Maria Chike Benjamin, Zack Orji, Hilda Dokubo, Elvina Ibru, Linc Edochie, and Jennifer Eliogu, with Onyeka Onwenu in one of her final screen performances. Invitation to Kill (September 11)
Chuks Obaze directs this thriller starring Kalu Ikeagwu as Julian, an agro-businessman and father forced to start over after his livestock business collapses and his marriage ends. Starlomo (September 25)
Kayode Kasum directs this comedy in which Kamo State makes his acting and producing debut. The cast includes Mike Afolarin, KieKie, Lateef Adedimeji, Folake Babatunde, and BBNaija’s Koyin Sanusi in his theatrical debut. FilmOne Entertainment distributes to cinemas nationwide.
Black Market (September 26)
Fatimah Binta Gimsay directs this crime thriller set around a cross-border smuggling operation. The film explores survival, loyalty, and the consequences of operating outside the law. Lateef Adedimeji and Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman lead the ensemble cast, alongside Omowunmi Dada, Scarlet Gomez, Teniola Aladese, Susan Pwajok, Uzor Arukwe, Folagade Banks, Tomiwa Tegbe, and Ibrahim Yekini. The film premieres at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest film screening at a single venue, with organizers expecting 50,000 attendees.

Folagade Banks brings his viral comedy character Mama Deola to the screen in feature form, and the film centers on a wedding that never quite stays on track. Confusion Na Wa (September 3)
Kenneth Gyang’s 2013 dark comedy finally returns to circulation. Charles and Chichi decide to use what they find on the device to blackmail its owner, Emeka, setting off a chain of events that spirals in ways none of them anticipated. The ensemble includes Ramsey Nouah, Ali Nuhu, OC Ukeje, Tunde Aladese, and Tony Goodman. Gyang wrote the screenplay with Tom Rowlands-Rees and directed.
Ajosepo 2: The Gathering (September 24)
Kayode Kasum directs the sequel, which shifts focus two years after Dapo and Tani’s wedding. Now the narrative centers on Jide and Mary, whose own wedding brings the extended families together again. Timini Egbuson and Bolaji Ogunmola lead as Jide and Mary, with Mike Afolarin, Tomike Adeoye, Mercy Aigbe, Yemi Solade, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Odunlade Adekola, and Toyin Abraham in the ensemble. The film originally played in cinemas in May 2026.
