The Story⚡
For years, audiences have known Pastor Nathaniel Bassey’s voice in worship and his trumpet in praise. Now they will see him on screen for the first time, in a story about service far from the city lights.

Tell Me More
Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, the gospel minister, trumpeter, and convener of the Hallelujah Challenge, is set to make his official feature-film acting debut in Beautiful Feet. The faith-based drama opens in cinemas nationwide on February 19, 2027. Details of the specific character he plays have not been released, yet the announcement alone marks a clear step beyond the music and ministry platform he has built for nearly two decades.
The Story the Film Tells
Beautiful Feet follows a Lagos doctor who leaves the familiar comforts of the city to serve in rural communities in Northern Nigeria. The narrative centres on medical outreach, personal sacrifice and the quiet work of faith lived out through practical care. Themes of compassion, service and the cost of answering a call beyond one’s immediate surroundings run through the production. The title itself echoes the biblical image of “beautiful feet” that carry good news, fitting for a story about those who travel to bring help and hope.
The Team Behind the Camera
Chim Onyebilanma directs. His earlier work includes the short film Wounded and the feature Treasure Hunt, a drama that explored choices, second chances, and social realities; the latter premiered at the American Black Film Festival and later reached South African cinemas. CAP Studios, an independent company focused on faith-based African stories for audiences on the continent and beyond, produced it. Austin Awulonu produces, and Nile Entertainment handles distribution.
The Cast
Bassey joins an ensemble that includes Tuke Morgan, Adebola Timmy, Funke Kate, Seun Adejumobi, Adeyemi Joseph, and Chidinma Umeh (also listed as International Dinma). Tuke Morgan has publicly described the project as her first major speaking role in a feature-length film and a leading part opposite Bassey, underscoring the ensemble nature of the storytelling.

Why the Move Makes Sense
Bassey’s public work has long centred on worship, prayer and calling people toward spiritual renewal. A film that dramatises service, faith and the decision to leave comfort for the sake of others sits naturally alongside that body of work. At the same time, it places him in a different creative arena, one that requires physical presence, dialogue and sustained performance rather than the stage or the livestream.
Key Background
Bassey was born in Lagos on 27 August 1981 and is originally from Ikot Ofon Ikono in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. He studied international relations and politics at the University of Lagos, then moved to London for further study in politics, and took a music course at Middlesex University’s summer school.
His music started in church. He played trumpet with the Rhodes Orchestra for two years, appeared on the 2004 album New Jazz Stew Project: Revelation alongside Wole Oni and Yinka Davies, and recorded his debut album, Elohim, in Cape Town in 2008. Wider recognition came through songs such as Imela, Onise Iyanu and Olowogbogboro.
In June 2017, he began the #HallelujahChallenge, an hour of worship held from midnight to 1:00 am. The programme now draws participants from Nigeria and other countries. He also pastors The Oasis Lagos, the youth church of RCCG Kings Court in Victoria Island.

In Summary
Beautiful Feet lands in cinemas nationwide on February 19, 2027, giving audiences their first chance to watch Pastor Nathaniel Bassey act. Whether this remains a single, purposeful outing or the start of a longer presence in Nollywood will depend on how he and the industry respond. Whether acting becomes a second calling or remains a single detour is his decision. For now, the film itself invites viewers to consider the courage of those who carry care and conviction into places that need both.
