Africa Magic continues its commitment to original African storytelling this October with a fresh slate of dramas spanning romance, faith, supernatural mystery, and revenge. These series premiere across Showcase, Yoruba, and Hausa channels, drawing on familiar cultural textures while introducing new characters and conflicts. Better Half (premieres October 5 on Africa Magic Showcase)
Every love story has a better half, but what happens when that better half arrives with unexpected complications? The series centres on Nkeiru, whose bestselling book Love Formula and a viral proposal have made her a public figure. As she navigates the gap between the advice she writes and the realities of her own relationship and marriage, the story examines whether her formula holds up under pressure. Produced by Paladin Creative Studio, the series airs on Showcase beginning at 8:30 pm WAT.
The Ten (premieres October 8 on Africa Magic Showcase)
Faith brings ten survivors back together. What they discover tests everything they once believed. The series follows a group whose shared past and present faith are challenged by new revelations and unresolved tensions. Early promotional material frames the story around themes of forgiveness, accountability, and the limits of redemption. It premieres on Africa Magic Showcase.
Afobaje (premieres October 10 at 7 pm on Africa Magic Yoruba)
He was raised to inherit a kingdom. Now he stands as the prime suspect in a supernatural mystery claiming royal heirs across Ekinrinade. The series follows the heir as he works to uncover the truth behind the deaths before time runs out. Set against a backdrop of tradition, power, and the unexplained, it airs on the Yoruba-language channel.
Sirrin Amarya (premieres October 10 on Africa Magic Hausa)
A tale of betrayal. A quest for revenge. And a price that may prove too heavy to pay. Also known as The Bride’s Secret, this 26-episode psychological thriller from A13 Films (commissioned by MultiChoice Nigeria) follows the disappearance of a young bride on the morning of her wedding to a powerful Northern Nigerian businessman. The ensuing scandal draws in both families and centres on the businessman’s eldest son as he searches for answers amid deception, hidden motives, and long-buried secrets. Executive produced and show-run by Chidozie Christian Ahaiwe, the series is rooted in Northern Nigerian culture and is positioned as a flagship original for the Hausa channel.
