The Story⚡
When a leader falls, the weight of the office lands on those left standing, and the true cost of power begins to reveal itself in the scripted series, Madam President.
Tell Me More
Media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo, known for the talk show #WithChude and a body of documentary and unscripted work, has stepped into executive producing a scripted series for the first time with Madam President. The three-part political drama, which premiered its first episode on 21 July 2026 on the ChudeFilms YouTube channel, draws from recognizable real-life events in Nigerian politics while examining leadership, accountability, personal sacrifice, and the systems that shape (and distort) those who hold power.
Jideonwo has long prioritized documentaries and conversations that explore human experiences and societal issues. He described Madam President as a story he could not set aside. “After years of saying no to scripted content, I finally executive produced a series focused on a story that is dear to my heart,” he noted. “You’ll recognise the story. It’s inspired by true-life events.” The project is executive produced by Jideonwo and Jennifer Mairo, directed by Mercy “Big Star” Osazuwa, and produced by Joy, Inc. and YNaija Studios, with support from Africa No Filter and CcHUB Creative Economy.

The cast brings together experienced performers: Peggy Ovire, Teniola Aladese, Ayo Adesanya, veteran actors Jide Kosoko and Patrick Doyle, Grace Angalabiri, Dr. Faith Adewale, Bernice Ibe, and others. The narrative centers on themes of women in leadership, solidarity in the face of corruption, identity, courage, and the human toll of political ambition. It portrays characters confronting difficult choices when thrust into positions of authority, often at high personal cost.
Madam President arrives at a moment of active public discussion in Nigeria about governance, representation, and the demands placed on leaders. Rather than offering simple answers or idealized portrayals, the series aims to present a grounded reflection on power dynamics, justice, and the decisions that influence national trajectories. It avoids broad generalizations, focusing instead on individual and systemic realities drawn from familiar contexts.
The full series rolled out with episodes on ChudeFilms YouTube, followed by broadcasts on WAP TV, Wazobia TV, and Rave TV. As of the premiere period in late July 2026, Episode One is available, with subsequent parts released shortly after.
In Summary
Madam President offers a thoughtful look at the realities of leadership through a story rooted in recognizable events. Watch the series on ChudeFilms on YouTube to engage directly with the characters, choices, and questions it raises.
