Niyi Akinmolayan recently shared on his Instagram page the exciting news of his documentary, “RainMaker,” premiering on Prime Video on March 1st.

The film explores the intriguing dynamics between science and traditional practices in rainmaking, employing a unique approach that involves comparing weather app predictions with the powers of traditional rainmakers.

The documentary takes viewers through three Nigerian states (Ogun, Oyo and Edo), engaging with 20 rainmakers to unravel the mysteries and draw a fascinating conclusion.

Narrated by Ade Obatoyinbo, “RainMaker” is produced and directed by Niyi Akinmolayan.

Niyi Akinmolayan is a highly successful Nigerian filmmaker and director, credited with several hit films that have achieved notable box office success. Five of his works, including “The Wedding Party 2” (2017), “Chief Daddy” (2018), “Prophetess” (2021), “My Village People” (2021), and “The Set Up” (2019), rank among the top 50 highest-grossing Nigerian films.

Beyond his directorial accomplishments, Akinmolayan is the founder and Creative Director of Anthill Studios, a prominent media production facility. In January 2022, Anthill Studios inked a multi-year deal with Amazon Prime Video, solidifying its position as the exclusive global streaming platform for Anthill’s cinema releases post-theatrical screenings in Nigeria.

World of Two Beast

Executive producer and Nollywood actress, Eniola Ajao, in partnership with Anthill Studios, is set to bring another epic blockbuster, Beast of Two Worlds (AJAKAJU) to be released in cinemas this Easter.

Beast of Two Worlds looks at the life of a desperate king facing banishment due to his three wives’ inability to produce a son, he takes a new wife from another world who promises him an heir but her arrival brings unforeseen chaos to the kingdom forcing the king to confront his fears and fight to secure his dynasty future.

The cast for the movie includes Odunlade Adekola, Eniola Ajao, Sola Sobowale, Femi Adebayo, Lateef Adedimeji, Mercy Aigbe, Bimbo Akintola, Fathia Balogun, Ibrahim Chatta, amongst others.
