The festivities began at the Moët & Chandon Welcome Lounge, where guests gathered over champagne, connected with friends and fellow guests, and eased into the evening before making their way to the red carpet.
The celebration also featured an exclusive MTN Prestige Lounge, where guests could relax and enjoy the lounge experience, create personalised caricatures at the caricature station, and take part in conversations at the podcast station, adding an interactive dimension to the evening.

An Electrifying After-Party to Remember
Following the grand red carpet, the celebration shifted into high gear with an electrifying after-party hosted by Jimmie Akinsanya, bringing together music, entertainment and an atmosphere worthy of two decades of cultural influence.
The evening was taken to new heights with a high-energy live performance by Segun Johnson, whose sound and dynamic stage presence kept guests on their feet.

The after-party provided a fitting finale to a landmark celebration of the creativity, cultural influence and vibrant community that have defined BellaNaija’s twenty-year journey.
Twenty Years of Telling African Stories Through African Voices
Beyond the glamour, the anniversary represented a significant milestone for a platform that has helped shape how African stories are told, shared, and celebrated.
Over the past two decades, BellaNaija has documented some of the most defining cultural movements of a generation, from the global rise of Afrobeats and the evolution of Nollywood to the growing international recognition of African fashion, entrepreneurship, and creative innovation.
Through its broader ecosystem, including BellaNaija Weddings and BellaNaija Style, the platform has championed African creativity, provided visibility for emerging talent, and connected audiences across Africa and the global diaspora.
Its influence extends beyond entertainment and lifestyle. Through initiatives including StopHPVforHer, HerMoneyHerPower, PVCitizen and BNDoGood, BellaNaija has leveraged storytelling and community engagement to champion important conversations around health, financial empowerment and social change.
The anniversary gala celebrated this multifaceted legacy, bringing together the individuals and communities whose stories have contributed to BellaNaija’s evolution into a leading African media-tech platform.
Reflecting on the milestone, Uche Pedro, Founder and CEO of BellaNaija, said: “Over the past twenty years, BellaNaija has had the privilege of documenting Africa’s extraordinary cultural evolution and amplifying the voices of the people shaping it. From entertainment and fashion to entrepreneurship and social impact, we’ve witnessed African creativity gain recognition on a global scale, and we’re proud to have played a part in that journey.
Our 20th anniversary gala was a celebration of the incredible community that has grown with us and the people whose stories have defined our platform. As we enter our third decade, our commitment remains unchanged: to champion African voices, create opportunities for emerging talent, and continue telling stories that reflect the richness, ambition, and possibilities of our continent.”
Twenty years after its founding, the anniversary gala was both a celebration of BellaNaija’s enduring cultural legacy and a tribute to the African voices shaping the future of global culture.
In Summary
As the lights dimmed on a night that marked two decades of documenting African life, BellaNaija turned its gaze forward. The third decade begins with the same focus that built the first two: the stories still waiting to be told, the voices still rising, and the culture still unfolding.
