Moon Sighting and the Holiday Bonus
The sighting of the moon determines whether the Ramadan fast for the Muslim faithful will end. For the year 2024, the crescent moon was declared not sighted in Saudi Arabia, therefore, Eid-El-Fitr was celebrated on Wednesday, 10th April 2024.
This meant the Federal Government extended the Eid-El-Fitr holiday to Thursday, April 11, 2024, in addition to the earlier declared 9th and 10th April, to celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
This extended holiday gave a great advantage for moviegoers to troop out and resulted in a strong opening demand for Ajosepo. In comparison to the last titles, see below the last three theatrical titles fared at the box office.
Afamefuna: N21.71M in 7 days
Something Like Gold: N18.75M in 7 days
