The Actor’s Chair: Prince Nelson Enwerem Going From Big Brother To His First Cinema Lead | Watch Now

The Story⚡

Prince Nelson Enwerem knew he wanted to act the day he starred in a primary-school courtroom play. In Episode 2 of The Actor’s Chair, he explains how that childhood certainty carried him to his first cinema release and first co-lead role in Aba Blues.

Tell Me More

Prince Nelson was born and raised in Aba, the same city where his character Uzor struggles between love and everything falling apart. The film, shot in both English and Igbo, marked a new chapter for him after earlier screen work in Man of God on Netflix and When the Glass Breaks. He got the role through a direct message that arrived at exactly the right time.

At the first table read everything clicked into place. He knew immediately this was the project he had been waiting for. The director’s approach pushed him further than he expected. After almost every take, the director would ask, “Happiness?” forcing Prince to dig deeper into what his character was truly feeling in that moment.

He also spoke openly about the difference between reality television and proper acting. Two appearances on Big Brother Nigeria had already given him a large following, but they came with heavy public criticism. He described learning to develop thick skin and answered directly whether he would ever return to the show.

Away from the set, Prince shared the story of a brand deal that looked too good to refuse. It was so tempting that he called his parents for advice, talked it through with them, and still said no because it did not fit the direction he wanted his career to take. He also recounted the time he turned down another movie role, choosing to wait for something that felt right instead of rushing into work.

The conversation ended with quick thoughts on red flags and green flags in both professional and personal life, followed by what Prince considers the one true mark of success as an actor.

This is a calm, honest look at the real choices an actor makes when moving from reality TV fame into Nollywood cinema.
