The Story⚡
FilmOne Entertainment has launched the seventh edition of The Nigeria Box Office Yearbook, continuing a seven-year tradition of providing verified theatrical box office data for Nigeria’s cinema industry.

Tell Me More
First published in 2019, The Nigeria Box Office Yearbook has become the country’s most authoritative annual record of cinema performance. The 2025 edition maintains the same rigorous standards, documenting verified box office results for both Nollywood and Hollywood films released in Nigerian cinemas, along with audience insights, cultural analysis, and market trends.
Compiled with consistent methodology, the Yearbook serves as a reliable reference for filmmakers, studios, distributors, exhibitors, brands, investors, media, and policymakers. It allows stakeholders to track performance over time, compare results across years, and make informed decisions in a growing market.

The publication highlights audience behaviour, release patterns, genre performance, and key industry milestones. It also underscores Nigeria’s position as one of Africa’s most transparent theatrical markets and its increasing role in the broader African and global cinema landscape.
Kene Okwuosa, Group CEO of Filmhouse Group (parent company of FilmOne Entertainment, Filmhouse Cinemas, and FilmOne Studios), emphasised the importance of continuity: “Sustaining the Nigerian Box Office Yearbook over seven consecutive years reflects our commitment to consistency, accuracy, and transparency. This publication has become foundational to the industry, offering credible insight into how films perform, how audiences engage, and how the market is maturing.”

Ladun Awobokun, Chief Content Officer at FilmOne Entertainment, added: “What gives the Nigeria Box Office Yearbook its strength is continuity. Across seven editions, it has evolved into an institutional record of how audiences engage with cinema in Nigeria. It allows producers, distributors, and exhibitors to assess performance year-on-year, compare outcomes across titles, and understand audience behaviour within a consistent and reliable framework.”

Produced by FilmOne Entertainment and supported by the Filmhouse Group ecosystem, the Yearbook is designed as both a historical record and a practical tool for industry planning.
The 2025 edition is now available to press, industry stakeholders, partners, researchers, and institutions. Previous editions dating back to 2019 remain accessible for comparison and historical analysis.
In Summary
Now in its seventh consecutive edition since 2019, The Nigeria Box Office Yearbook remains the definitive and most credible annual record of verified theatrical performance in Nigeria. The 2025 edition is now available, with all previous volumes accessible for ongoing reference and comparative analysis.
