Following her blockbuster success with King of Boys: Return of the King in 2021, Kemi Adetiba is making a powerful comeback with her highly anticipated new project, To Kill A Monkey. The gripping eight-part television series is set to premiere soon on Netflix.
Announcing the release of the show’s official trailer on Instagram, Adetiba wrote:

To Kill A Monkey follows the story of Efemini, an ordinary man down on his luck, whose life takes a drastic turn after a chance encounter with an old friend. Forced by circumstance to abandon his values, Efemini finds himself drawn into the world of cybercrime, where every choice he makes leads him further down a dangerous path of moral compromise and life-threatening consequences.
The series is written, directed, and produced by Kemi Adetiba herself, and features a stellar cast including William Benson, Bucci Franklin, Bimbo Akintola, Stella Damasus, Chidi Mokeme, Sunshine Rosman, Lilian Afegbai, Ireti Doyle, Teniola Aladese, Michael Ejoor, among others.
To Kill A Monkey is co-produced by Remi Adetiba and Kemi Adetiba under the Kemi Adetiba Visuals (KAV) banner, marking the first release from Adetiba’s three-title deal with Netflix. Announced in 2023, this landmark deal solidified her continued partnership with the streaming giant. Alongside To Kill A Monkey, the deal includes Welcome To The Fourth, as well as a third instalment in the acclaimed King of Boys franchise. While Netflix has yet to announce release dates for these two upcoming titles, anticipation is already building among fans eager to see what Kemi Adetiba will deliver next.
