“IDIA” A Nigerian Paranormal Thriller for movie audiences is coming from the stables of Golden Mhinutes Pictures.
The production company is set to thrill audiences with its latest feature film, “IDIA”, a paranormal thriller rooted in Edo mythology
Nollywood Favorite, Gbubemi Ejeye will star as the titular character, IDIA, alongside a talented ensemble cast including Tope Tedela, Linda Osifo, Mercy Aigbe, and veteran filmmaker-turned-actor Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen
“IDIA” will be co-directed by the dynamic duo of Ese Ariremu and Jide “Jblaze” Oyegbile. Dr Jasper Aziegbemhin will produce with Yvonne Ajoki coming on board as Associate Producer. Courage Obayuwana will bring the world to life as Director of Photography.
Principal photography is slated to commence soon, marking the beginning of an exciting journey to bring this captivating story to screens
“As an Edo filmmaker born and bred in Edo state, I am excited about Idia’s cultural relevance and also getting to create this film with an ensemble Edo Cast and Crew. A major highlight of making this film is getting to showcase Edo culture, folklore, music, and language whilst delving into themes of religion, family death and mental health – Dr Jasper Aziegbemhin (Producer/Co-writer/Executive Producer.
Meet The C0-Directors
Ese Ariremu is a writer-director and a filmmaker. Ese loves telling African stories with socio-cultural issues with a twist of dark and psychological elements. His short film “prey” has been selected for over 7 film festivals including a nomination at the acclaimed Toronto Nollywood International Film Festival and the African International Film Festival (Afriff).
JIDE ‘JBLAZE’ OYEGBILE is a versatile Nigerian talent, balancing a career as a medical doctor with his passion for acting and filmmaking. An award-winning director and actor, Jide has earned widespread recognition for his performances. He has starred in several notable movies, including Soole, King of Boys 2, lle Owo, and the recently released Netflix original ‘House of Ga’a’ as OLAOTAN. Projects Directed include – Damage Done (Tinff award winner), Nightlife in Lasgidi (Tinff award winner, AMAA, BON, AMVCA Nominations), Brukaci (BON Nomination, Afriff Selection).
Ese Ariremu and Jide “Jblaze” would be joining forces to bring IDIA to life. Based on a script by Dr Jasper Aziegbemhin and Ese Ariremu.
