“100 Reasons to Stay Single in Lagos” Premieres at MIP Africa as MTN One TV Launches

The Story⚡

At MIP Africa 2026 in Cape Town, a major partnership places African creators and the premiere of 100 Ways to Stay Single in Lagos at the centre of industry attention, opening direct doors for producers to present their work.

Tell Me More

FAME Week Africa has partnered with MTN One TV to bring original African content and practical industry opportunities to MIP Africa 2026, held from 28–30 October at CTICC 2 in Cape Town. The collaboration gives delegates early access to new productions while creating structured ways for producers to connect with a growing platform.

Premiere of 100 Ways to Stay Single in Lagos

A key moment of the partnership is the premiere of 100 Ways to Stay Single in Lagos, an MTN One TV Original comedy series with Mimi Barters as Showrunner. Industry attendees will get the first public look at the production during the event, showcasing contemporary African storytelling crafted for local audiences.

Building on Earlier Engagement

This move continues MTN One TV’s work with Africa’s creative sector, following its presence at Durban FilmMart. At MIP Africa, a dedicated pitch session will allow producers to present projects directly to the platform’s content team and discuss possible commercial paths forward.

Martin Hiller, Portfolio Director of FAME Week Africa, notes: “This is exactly the kind of partnership we want MIP Africa to deliver. MTN One TV is coming to Cape Town not only to showcase what it is building, but to meet the African producers and creators who could help shape what comes next. There is a real opportunity here: bring your project, meet the team, understand what they are looking for and, if you are shortlisted, pitch directly to them. That is what a content market should be doing.”

About MTN One TV

MTN One TV is a Pan-African entertainment platform that combines local storytelling, live channels and international programming. It aims to make digital video content more accessible and relevant across African markets, with viewing options shaped to fit different countries.

Selorm Adadevoh explains: “MTN One TV is about bringing African audiences closer to stories that reflect who they are, while creating new opportunities for the people making those stories. Our partnership with FAME Week Africa allows us to meet producers and creators from across the continent, discover exciting new projects and share what we are building with the industry. Through the initiatives at FAME, we hope to have real conversations with the creative community and find stories that can connect with audiences across African markets.”

As Platinum Sponsor of MIP Africa 2026, MTN One TV will take part across the three days through the series premiere, the producer pitch session, and direct conversations with filmmakers, broadcasters, distributors, and other industry partners.
