Actor Gbenga Titiloye has been appointed as the Managing Director of Sugar Factory Film Studio, a state-of-the-art film production studio based in Kwara.
This studio is a key part of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s strategic efforts to transform the state’s economy, with a focus on job creation and youth empowerment. In his new role, Titiloye is set to shape the studio’s future and guide its strategic direction. The studio completed and commissioned in March, currently has custom sets for the court, office and living room scenes which can be modified for filmmakers’ use.

Sugar Factory Film Studio has already commenced production on several projects, including the AS-SIRAT podcast. This weekly Islamic podcast aims to bridge the gap between faith and culture by educating viewers about mutual respect and cultural exchange through dialogue, fostering empathy and appreciation for the varied experiences and viewpoints within the Muslim community.
Additionally, the studio recently welcomed the Mass Communication Student Association of the Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies, Ilorin. The students visited the studio on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, as part of their quest for knowledge and to gain deeper insights into the industry they are studying to join.
During their visit, Mr. Titiloye enlightened them about Sugar Factory Film Studio’s vision of becoming a major hub for last-mile movie production in West Africa, with the goal of elevating the quality of Nigerian cinema to compete globally. The studio also provided full coverage of the activities during the 2024 Ilorin Durbar Festival. Furthermore, it has hosted visits from prominent Nollywood figures like Rita Dominic and staff from the Nigerian Copyright Commission.
