‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ Hits N200M Box Office Gross After 2nd Weekend

Bad Boys: Ride or Die is still number 1 at the Nigerian box office and on track to be the first N300M Hollywood title

Surprisingly, Hollywood Bad Boys: Ride or Die at the cinema surpasses our Biopic Funmilayo Ransom Kuti despite being in the cinema for the past five weeks. Bad Boys: Ride or Die alongside Muri & Ko, Inside Out 2, Funmilayo Ransom Kuti and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga made the top five list during the Eid Salah break weekend. Bad Boys: Ride or Die made a sum of N51,701,869 in its opening weekend.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die is a 2024 American electrifying, thrilling yet hilarious film. Starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. It is the fourth instalment of the Bad Boys series, written by Chris Bremner, Will Beall, and George Gallo. Also directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

5. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

Snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers, young Furiosa falls into the hands of a great biker horde led by the warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel, presided over by the Immortan Joe. As the two tyrants fight for dominance, Furiosa soon finds herself in a nonstop battle to make her way home.

Directed by George Miller, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga was released to the Nigerian cinemas on 24th May 2024. Featuring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Jones, Alyla Browne, Xanthia Marinelli, Charlee Fraser, Sean Millis, and Jacob Tomuri.

Furiosa made a total of N7.6m in its first opening weekend and a total of N127m at the end of its fourth week.

4. Funmilayo Ransom Kuti

Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti is a biopic about the life and times of Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, a renowned Nigerian activist, and a fearless female leader who sparked a revolution against colonialism and patriarchy in Nigeria which is forever transforming the destiny of her nation. Written by Tunde Babalola and directed by Bolanle Austin Peters.

FRK made a box office gross of N5.8m in its first weekend and then N156m after spending five weeks in the Nigerian cinemas.

Starring Nollywood legends like Joke Silver, Adebayo Salami, Dele Odule, Kehinde Bankole, Adunni Ade, Ibrahim Suleimon, Omowunmi Dada, Iremide Adeoye, and Patrick Diabuah.

Funmilayo Ransom Kuti was released to the cinemas on 17th May, 2024.

3. Inside Out 2

Inside Out 2 is a 2024 American animated coming-of-age film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. It is a sequel to Inside Out (2015), directed by Kelsey Mann (in his feature directorial debut) and produced by Mark Nielsen. The story follows Riley, in her teenage years, encountering new emotions.

Inside Out 2 began its cinema debut with a gross of N9.4m and a total of N24m after 7 days.

Release date: 14th June 2024.

2. Muri & Ko

Muri, a small-time thief, inadvertently steals a car with an 8-year-old boy, Cole, in the backseat, a celebrity’s son. His quest to sell the car but keep Cole safe leads to a series of comical misadventures, forging an unlikely friendship between the two. Starring Kunle Remi, Bisola Aiyeola, Bukunmi Adeaga, Femi Jacobs, Charles Okocha, Buchi Franklin, Gloria Anozie-Young, and Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga.

Muri & Ko is a comedy-drama film directed by Biodun Stephen and produced by Inkblot. The film was introduced to the cinema on 12th June 2024 with a total of N50.1m in seven days.
