The 20th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) has commenced its call for submissions, marking two decades of celebrating African cinema and honouring the late founder, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, for her pioneering contributions.
Raymond Anyiam-Osigwe, a board member, emphasized the event’s significance in showcasing African creativity and cinematography globally.
Filmmakers are encouraged to submit feature films, shorts, animations, and documentaries across nearly 30 categories, with a focus on works featuring Africans or people of African origin.
Lagos will host the event, featuring additional activities such as jury sessions, nominations, and capacity development initiatives, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu returning as host.
