Nollywood’s To Love and Protect has earned an official selection to screen at the London International Pan African Film Festival on October 23, 2024, showcasing its powerful narrative on a global stage.

Muyiwa Aluko’s To Love and To Protect has been selected for screening at the London International Pan African Film Festival in the Narrative Feature Film category, making it one of only two Nigerian films to be featured this year.

The other Nigerian film selected is Daniel Oriahi’s The Weekend, also in the Narrative Feature Film category. A ROK Original production, To Love and To Protect was produced by Watts Camera Action, written by Chijioke Ononiwu, and directed by Muyiwa Aluko, with Mary Njoku serving as the executive producer. 

The film boasts a talented cast including Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Ibrahim Suleiman, Tina Mba, Kelechi Udegbe, and others. The gripping story follows a pregnant woman who, after a history of pregnancy loss, goes into sudden labor at a random hospital. When told that her baby has died, she insists that the deceased child is not hers and takes the hospital staff hostage, demanding her real baby. The tense narrative explores themes of motherhood, loss, and desperation.
