A heartfelt Nollywood romance, Love In Every Word, released straight to YouTube, captured more Google searches in Nigeria this year than any other local film.
Tell Me More
Google’s Year in Search 2025 data for Nigeria lists Love in Every Word as the highest-ranking Nigerian movie among the top searched films and series, coming in third overall behind international titles Straw and Sinners.
Directed, produced, and released by Omoni Oboli on her YouTube channel Omoni Oboli TV, the film premiered on March 7, 2025. It follows Chioma (played by Bamike “Bam Bam” Olawunmi-Adenibuyan), an ambitious businesswoman, who travels to Anambra for a family wedding and unexpectedly falls for Odogwu (Uzor Arukwe), a wealthy, culturally proud man whose persistent and extravagant pursuit challenges her reservations about love and relationships.

The story explores themes of cultural differences, emotional barriers from past experiences, communication in relationships, and the balance between career ambitions and romance. Strong performances, particularly the on-screen chemistry between the leads and Arukwe’s portrayal of unapologetic cultural identity, drove widespread discussions on social media.
Within days of its release, the film amassed millions of views, reaching approximately 4.3 million in 72 hours and over 20 million by early April. The viral success extended to related searches, such as the Igbo term “Achalugo” (meaning something beautiful or priceless), which became one of the year’s top trending queries due to its use in the film.

Later in 2025, Oboli released a sequel, Love in Every Word: The Wedding, which continued the story and also achieved rapid view counts, further sustaining interest. The original’s digital-first strategy, free access on YouTube, combined with strong social media engagement, helped it outperform many theatrical releases in search volume and audience reach.
This achievement highlights the growing influence of YouTube as a primary platform for Nollywood distribution, allowing direct connection with viewers and bypassing traditional cinema constraints.
