Nile Group Executives Lolu Desalu and Abimbola Craig Unveil Focus Plans to Disrupt Nollywood

Moses Babatope co-founder of FilmHouse Group and MD of FilmOne Entertainment launches a new media company Nile Media Entertainment Group. The Nile Group is structured into five compartments namely Nile Entertainment, a distribution arm covering local and international markets; Nile Cinemas, offering luxury cinema experiences; Nile Motion Pictures, a production company for Nollywood films; Nile Studio Lab, a film village in Nigeria; and Nile Foundation, the CSR arm focused on community development through cinema.

A group of female executives spoke about the company’s vision to innovate and disrupt the Nigerian movie industry’s traditional movie production and distribution model.

These female executives include Biola Sokenu as the executive director and group COO, Lolu Desalu as the executive director, Abimbola Craig as the VP of Production, Bukky George Taylor as VP of the luxury cinema arm Nile X, and Nowekere Alexis C.I Segun-Ojo, general manager of distribution and marketing.

In an exclusive with Shock, Abimbola Craig spoke about Nile Group’s core values which are transforming the Nollywood industry. She added that the company plans to disrupt the industry a bit and create new revenue lines.

Lolu Desalu emphasized the amazing works of female executives and the role each executive plays. However, behind the camera we have a lot of men on board and the high table – Lolu added.
