Following the release of Suky, After 30, and The Fire and The Moth, Nemsia Studios has unveiled Ms Kanyin as its fourth title of the year.
Tell Me More
Nemsia Studios, the production company behind the acclaimed 2023 drama Breath of Life, executive produced by BB Sasore and Derin Adeyokunnu, has released Ms Kanyin as its fourth title of 2025.
Ms Kanyin, a supernatural thriller directed by Jerry Ossai, debuted on Prime Video on June 27. Set in the mythical Sterling Academy, the film unravels a terrifying chain of events triggered by a single act of disobedience. As students begin to uncover a deadly secret buried deep within their institution’s past, the boundary between reality and the supernatural grows dangerously thin.
The film features a star-studded cast including Temi Otedola, Michelle Dede, Tolu George, Natse Jemide, Queen Damilola, Demola Adedoyin, Kalu Ikeagwu, Blessing Onwukwe, among others.
Ms Kanyin joins Nemsia Studios’ strong lineup of releases this year. Earlier in March, the studio released Suky, an action film directed by Ola Cardoso and produced by Bamidele Adelusi. The film, which premiered on March 7, stars Tobi Bakre, Bimbo Ademoye, James Damilare, Olarotimi Fakunle, Femi Adebayo, and Ibrahim Yekini.
Following Suky, Nemsia Studios released After 30, a sequel to its hit series Before 30. Directed by Omorinsojo Spaine, After 30 continues the story of four urban career women in Lagos navigating societal and familial pressures to marry before hitting thirty. The film sees Damilola Adegbite, Beverly Naya, Meg Otanwa, and Anee Icha reprising their roles, with a script co-written by Bibi Ukpo, Omorinsojo Spaine, and BB Sasore. Notably, After 30 was among three Nemsia titles screened at the NollywoodWeek Film Festival last month, alongside Soft Love and The Fire and The Moth.
The Fire and The Moth, released on Prime Video on June 3, is directed by Taiwo Egunjobi, known for Green Fever (2023), Crushed Roses (2022), and All Na Vibes (2021). The thriller follows Saba, a smuggler in a border town in western Nigeria, whose theft of a rare Ife bronze head sets off a series of violent events. The film stars Ini Dima-Okojie, William Benson, Jimmy Jean-Louis, and others.
With Ms Kanyin now added to its growing 2025 catalogue, Nemsia Studios continues to cement its place as a powerhouse in the Nigerian film industry.
In Summary
With four titles already released in just the first half of the year, it’s natural to wonder what Nemsia Studios has planned next. As part of its landmark 12-title slate deal with Prime Video over two years, the studio is clearly positioning itself as a major force in African filmmaking. This deal means viewers can expect a steady stream of diverse and compelling stories from Nemsia, further strengthening its presence in the industry. Whatever the next release may be, one thing is certain: Nemsia Studios is here to stay. Time will soon reveal the studio’s next big project.
