Easy Street Company is proud to announce the upcoming release of “Moji”, a chilling psychological thriller directed by Richmond Amechi and produced by Temitope Subair and Fulfillment Fuchi Nwaturuocha. Shot on location in Ibadan in 2024, this gripping feature boasts an impressive cast, including Shawn Faqua, Temitope Olowoniyan, Darasimi Nadi, Kiki Omeli, Tina Mba, and Chuks Joseph.
“Moji” promises psychological tension, weaving a complex narrative that expertly blurs the lines between reality and the darkest recesses of the human mind. As the story unfolds, the audience is drawn into a world of escalating panic and dread, where nothing is as it seems.
This film explores themes of human psychology, trauma, reincarnation, and marital issues, but in a unique and unconventional way that deviates from the norm. Through its exploration of these themes, “Moji” raises important questions about the nature of reality and the human condition.
“In a world where our reality is fractured and the lines between inner and outer worlds are blurred, MOJI seeks to uncover the darkness that lies within the psyche,” says Emmanuel, writer of the film.
Director Richmond Amechi adds, “When I first read the script, I felt connected with the uniqueness of the story. A break from the norm. Thrillers are my favorite, especially a crime thriller with an experimental touch. It is one of those films where each of the puzzle pieces has to fit in perfectly to get a decent delivery out of it, and I am happy with what I and the team have done.”
Executive Producer Temitope Subair shares his insights on the film’s relevance and timeliness: “Why tell this story now? This story is deeply rooted in spirituality and human consciousness, so my answer is why not now? It’s never too late to understand yourself and this reality we live in. For thousands of years, humans have asked the question of what happens to us after we pass away; this film subtly suggests the concept of the spirit never dying but moving into another form. As Einstein said, ‘everything is energy,’ and we know energy cannot be destroyed but transformed.”
Subair continues, “In today’s world, we’re waking up to old ways of thinking or ‘programming.’ Our people are waking up to who they were before colonialism, and they’re reconnecting with their ancestors. This story is relevant because it shows we’re all connected and come from the same source, which is God.”
The story has two parts: one about a family in danger and one about solving a crime. Both parts make the viewers feel scared and nervous, just like the people in the story.
