Mike Afolarin, Jemima Osunde, Susan Pwajok, and other amazing actors are set to star in Inkblot’s latest production — A Lagos Love Story coming soon to Netflix.

Tell Me More

Naz Onuzo’s A Lagos Love Story is coming soon to Netflix, with Inkblot Productions behind it. Directed and produced by Naz Onuzo, alongside Zulumoke Oyibo and Damola Ademola, and co-written by Naz Onuzo and Ozzy Etomi, this film brings together an exciting cast like Mike Afolarin, Jemima Osunde, Uti Nwachukwu, Susan Pwajok, Chimezie Imo, Uche Montana, Linda Ejiofor, Kalu Ikeagwu, and others.

This marks Inkblot’s first production for 2025 and notably, their first project heading straight to a streaming platform (Netflix)  rather than the box office. It also highlights the end of their three-year exclusive deal with Prime Video, which wrapped up in 2024. The story follows King Kator, a top Afrobeats artiste navigating life in Lagos, taking us deep into the worlds of art, fashion, and music. Release date and trailer will be announced soon!

Key Background

Inkblot Productions is a Lagos-based Nigerian film production company founded in 2010 by Naz Onuzo, Zulumoke Oyibo, Damola Ademola, and Omotayo Adeola. Known for producing and co-producing some of Nollywood’s biggest hits — including The Wedding Party, which ranks among the highest-grossing Nigerian films — Inkblot has built a reputation for consistently delivering quality films.

Since their first project, Knock Knock in 2013, they’ve gone on to create a number of notable movies like The Set Up, Quam’s Money, The Arbitration, and Out of Luck. Over the years, Inkblot has become a household name for top-notch films on both big and small screens.

Tangent

Mike Afolarin is quickly cementing his place as one of Nollywood’s most promising leading men. After capturing hearts with his breakout role as Ishaya Bello in Netflix’s Far From Home, Mike has become a familiar face in the industry, known for portraying layered, relatable characters. Far From Home not only brought him international recognition but also showcased his range — balancing vulnerability, ambition, and street smarts.

Since then, he’s continued to build an impressive filmography, including standout performances in Soólè, Ajosepo, and Bolanle Austen-Peters House of Gaa, where he played one of his most complex roles yet. Now, with A Lagos Love Story, Mike is stepping into the romantic lead territory, joining stars like Jemima Osunde and Susan Pwajok. This new role marks another major milestone in his career, proving he’s not just here for the moment but steadily becoming a household name, bringing charm and depth to every project he takes on.

In Summary

A Lagos Love Story promises to be an exciting watch as Mike Afolarin takes on the role of an Afrobeats star, a character that feels like a nod to Nigerian Afrobeat superstar Asake. It’ll be interesting to see how Nollywood brings the vibrant world of Afrobeats, fashion, and celebrity culture to life on screen.
