The Story⚡

When memory becomes your enemy and betrayal lurks in every shadow, survival is the only option.

This November, Fractured brings psychological tension to AFRIFF 2025 with a story that will make you question everything you think you remember.

Tell Me More

In Fractured, the boundaries between memory and reality blur in a haunting exploration of what happens when the past refuses to stay buried. This TBO Productions thriller tackles themes of psychological trauma and betrayal, featuring an impressive cast including Bridget Atlanta Johnson, Uzor Arukwe, Etim Effiong, Shaffy Bello, Tolu Babs-Omish, Toke Makinwa, and Tope Tedela.

Directed by Kayode Kasum, produced by Tolu Babs Omish, co-produced by Muyiwa Idowu and screenplay by Dare Olaitan, Fractured promises a gripping narrative. Film Tribe Media joins the project as production consultants, bringing their industry expertise to this psychological thriller.

The film makes its premiere at the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) 2025 with a complimentary screening on November 5th at Landmark Centre, Lekki, offering audiences an exclusive first look at one of Nollywood’s most anticipated thrillers.

Key Background

Producer Tolu Babs-Omish brings a diverse skill set to Nigerian cinema, with expertise spanning software coding, animation, producing, editing, and acting. Beyond filmmaking, she is also an author specialising in child psychology.

Her filmmaking journey began in 2017 through the Accelerate Filmmaker Project, where she created the short film Black before venturing into producing her own project, Ridiculous.

Since then, Babs-Omish has built an impressive production portfolio, including Here I Come (2014), A Man’s Best Friend (2020), Burgled (2020), Nkan Alejo (2020), and When the Poor Smiles (2024), steadily establishing herself as a notable presence in the Nigerian film industry.

Director Kayode Kasum’s commercial work spans global brands including Forbes, DHL, Manchester United, Belvedere, and Union Bank Nigeria.

In 2021, four of his films ranked among the top 10 most-streamed Nigerian films on Netflix. That same year, his film Soole became one of the highest-grossing releases. He also achieved remarkable milestones when his film Afamefuna became the most-watched film on Netflix Nigeria for the entire year, while Ajosepo became the third highest-grossing film at the Nigerian box office, pushing his cumulative box office sales to nearly ₦1.5 billion

In 2024, StatiSense named him among the top Nollywood movie directors by domestic gross value, ranking him in third position, cementing his status as one of Nigeria’s most commercially successful directors.

Tangent

Fractured represents something we don’t see often enough in Nollywood, a proper psychological thriller. While the industry has mastered romantic comedies and family dramas, films that dig into the darker corners of the human mind remain a rare territory. This is the kind of story that asks uncomfortable questions about memory, trauma, and what happens when you can’t trust your own recollections.

The choice to tackle psychological themes feels significant. It suggests that Nollywood is ready to move beyond comfort zones and explore narratives that demand more from audiences. We’re talking about mental health, the fragility of memory, and whether what we remember actually happened or if our minds have rewritten the script. These aren’t easy conversations, but they’re necessary ones.

Nollywood has always been an industry that watches what works before committing to a trend. If audiences respond to this film’s willingness to venture into psychological complexity, we might see more filmmakers taking similar risks.

In Summary

Fractured makes its world premiere at AFRIFF 2025 on November 5th, 2025, at Landmark Centre.
