The Masked King is a gripping epic of power ,betrayal and destiny. It is centered around King Ensa’s fateful choices, as he turns against his people his mother faces an impossible choice, either to Remain loyal to her son or alter his destiny for the greater good and with this the fate of the kingdom hangs in a balance .
Directed by Uduak Obong Patrick and produced by The 7eventh Studio and Fit Ofili Films with cinematography by Jonathan Kovel. The film boasts of a Steller cast including Daniel Etim Effiong, Shaffy Bello, Uche Montana , Segun Arinze, Uzor Arukwe, and Gideon Okeke. The Masked king will be distributed by Genesis Pictures and is set to hit the cinema nationwide by March 28th 2025.
Key Background
Uduak-Obong Patrick is a Nigerian film director and producer with over five years of hands-on experience in the industry. He studied Theatre Arts and began his career under the mentorship of acclaimed filmmaker Emem Isong-Misodi. Patrick further honed his skills with guidance from Victor Sanchez Aghahowa, currently the Head of Production, West Africa at Multichoice Group, and underwent three months of rigorous training with the late filmmaker Amaka Igwe. His dedication culminated in his debut feature film, Just Not Married, which was selected for the City to City Program at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival.
Throughout his career, Patrick has directed and produced several notable films, including Strain (2020), Grey Roses (2022), The Fault in Us (2020) and Force Empire (2024).
