Nollywood enthusiasts have a new cinematic treat on the horizon with Baptism, a compelling mystery thriller that has just wrapped principal photography. Directed by filmmaker Orire Nwani, known for his work on the Amazon Prime series Grind, the AMVCA-nominated T’egbon T’aburo, and Maggi’s Tales of Ramadan campaign, the film promises a gripping narrative.

Produced by Conceptified Media and One Child Grace Studios, Baptism follows a group from St. Jude’s Cathedral who venture to the outskirts of town for a baptism, only for their ceremony to turn tragic when a boy drowns, unraveling a web of suspense.

The cast features a stellar lineup, with Ozzy Agu, Toni Tones, and Bimbo Manuel leading the charge, supported by Yvonne Jegede, Tomi Ojo, Jide Kosoko, Bobby Ekpe, Seun Kentebe, Toyeeb Oseni, and Funmbi Toye. New talents Eric Emeka and Idara Peniel also make their mark in significant roles, adding fresh faces to the ensemble.

The film was shot on location in Lagos, brought to life by producers Josh Olaoluwa, and Goodness Emmanuel. The visual storytelling is elevated by cinematographer Fadamana Okwong and Rume Orukpe, who managed the production, with the screenplay crafted by Adaora Sandra and Hope Eniayekan. Executive producers Efosa Ogbomo, Josh Olaoluwa, and Orire Nwani, representing One Child Grace Studios and Conceptified Media, oversee this ambitious project.
