During FAME Week Africa 2024 (2-4 September 2024) happening in Cape Town, South Africa, Nigeria will be at the forefront of key discussions aimed at advancing international relations and the growth of the African film industry.

On Monday, 2nd September, from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at MIP Africa Theatre 1, the panel titled “Advancing Nigeria-India-South Africa Relations Through Film” will feature notable Nigerian figures like Obi Asika, Hamisha DaryaniAhuja, and Bodunrin Sasore, exploring how film can enhance diplomatic ties.

Later, on Tuesday, 3rd September, the MIP Africa Film Financing Forum will take place from 10 AM to 12 PM, addressing the critical need for investment in African cinema. Moderated by Mayenzeke Baza, the panel will include Editi Effiong and other industry experts.

At noon, Women Leading the Charge: Producers and Directors Shaping TV and Film session will begin. Hamisha Daryani Ahuja, Executive Producer, Namaste and Mimi Bartels, CoFounder, Anakle Films will join other female filmmakers to converse on the vital contributions of women producers and directors in creating compelling and groundbreaking content.

Same time 1 pm, at MIP Africa Theatre 1,  In Conversations With Netflix with Ben Amadasun is set to hold.

Attendees will be treated to an insightful discussion with Ben Amadasun, Netflix’s VP of content for the Middle East and Africa, as he delves into Netflix’s Africa content strategy. Additionally, from 1 PM to 2 PM on the same day, a panel on “The Business of Nollywood and its Global Reach” will be held at MIP Africa Theatre 2, featuring speakers like Faith Isiakpere, Obi Asika, Hannatu Musawa, Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, Aisha Adamu Augie and Ladun Awobokun. This session will delve into Nollywood’s economic power and international influence.
