Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution Limited and Lewabo Inspirational Movies are excited to announce the upcoming release of Ekpebiwo M (I Have Decided), an epic Nollywood drama set to hit cinemas across Nigeria on November 8, 2024. This inspirational film, steeped in faith, draws inspiration from the timeless Christian hymn “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus.”
Set in a village in pre-colonial Eastern Nigeria, Ekpebiwo M follows the powerful story of a village chief, portrayed by Nollywood veteran Chidi Mokeme (known for Shanty Town, Merry Men 3, and Tokunbo), who turns his back on tradition to embrace Christianity and begin a new journey as an evangelist. His decision is met with fierce resistance from his community, testing the very limits of his faith.
Nollywood megastar Ini Edo (Shanty Town, Chief Daddy, The Man for the Job) takes on the role of his wife, who struggles with her husband’s newfound faith, fearing the dire consequences that lie ahead for their family and their standing in the community.
The film’s rich ensemble cast also features celebrated actors Jide Kosoko, Alex Usifo, Chucks Chyke, Ovunda Ihunwo, and Patrick Onyeocha, alongside Nigerian power couple Jane John-Nwankwo Ph.D and Pastor John Nwankwo Ph.D.
Ekpebiwo M is executive produced by Jane John-Nwankwo Ph.D through her Nigerian-American production company, Lewabo Inspirational Movies, and is directed and produced by acclaimed Nollywood filmmaker Matthew Ajallys (DGN, AMP). Thefilm, produced in partnership with Studio Da Dove, promises to deliver a poignant message of redemption, sacrifice, and unwavering faith, making it a must-see for audiences everywhere.
The release of Ekpebiwo M comes after an exclusive premiere event that garnered a lot of media coverage on August 18, 2024, at Ebonylife Place, Victoria Island, Lagos. Building on the success of the premiere, the film’s producers have strategically partnered with Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution Limited, a leader in Nollywood film distribution, to handle the theatrical rollout of Ekpebiwo M across West Africa.
