Dust to Dream, a short film from the collaboration of Ebony Life Studios and Afreximbank, is said to be directed by Idris Elba. The film follows the relationship between a mother and her teenage daughter as she meets her father for the first time.
Starring Singer Seal, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Eku Edewor, Atlanta Bridget Johnson, and Constance Olatunde, among many others.
Dust to Dreams was created by Mo Abudu and written and directed by Elba. Mo Abudu will serve as both executive producer and producer, with Heidi Uys as supervising producer. Alongside Abudu and Uys on the project are producers Temidayo Makanjuola, Inem King, and Vanessa Demme.

Afreximbank is a pan-African multilateral financial institution created in the early ’90s under the auspices of the African Development Bank.
The Bank is committed to supporting Africa’s creative industries through financing, facilitation, providing market access solutions, capacity building, and other services.”.
In regards to this commitment, Afreximbank announces a $1 billion African Film Fund to be launched in 2024 to support the continent’s film industry. The fund would oversee film financing, co-finance with large studios, finance African filmmakers, and finance producers and directors of film projects across the continent.
The Bank has film, music, visual arts, fashion, and sports deals in the pipeline from Nigeria, South Africa, and Kenya, which should be on streaming platforms in 2024.
