The Story⚡
A disgraced investigative journalist returns to her rural hometown, only to arrive during a sacred festival where young women perform an ancient river ritual.

Tell Me More
Daughters of Water is a new original series premiering on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv Channel 151). It centers on Anie, played by Imoh Eboh, a journalist seeking refuge after a professional setback. Her timing places her in the midst of the Ukang Festival, a cultural event in her village where seven selected maidens—known as the Daughters of Water—from prominent families participate in a ceremonial dipping in the river to honor ancestral river spirits.

The story weaves elements of family ties, village traditions, and personal redemption as Anie’s presence intersects with the festival’s proceedings. Supporting performances come from Ade Laoye, Teniola Aladese, and Bobby Ogbolu. The series is written and directed by Sarmie Lowkey, with Femi Ogunsanwo serving as executive producer.

New episodes air every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 8:30 PM WAT, starting with the premiere on December 29, 2025. The narrative explores themes of cultural heritage and individual resolve against a backdrop of community rituals.
In Summary
Tune in to Daughters of Water on Africa Magic Showcase for a thoughtful look at tradition and personal journeys. It offers a fitting close to the festive season with its focus on cultural depth.
