Cameras are set to roll for A Better Man from the stable of Uche Jumbo Studios. The romantic drama, directed by Uche Jombo, written by Joy Isi Bewaji, and produced by Taiwo Adebayo, will officially begin principal photography before the end of November 2023.
A Better Man stars Uche Jombo, Daniel Etim Effiong, Tana Adelana, Tina Mba, Elvina Ibru, Uche Montana, Lord Frank, and more.
Uche Jombo shared her excitement about directing this picture. “I am in love with the script. The story is riveting. It gives a fresh take on the complexities of love. We are bringing mystery, love, and tragedy to your screens,” she said.
The studio also revealed why this story is being made for the screen in 2023.
“Love and loss trigger are very strong emotions. We explore this from a cultural perspective. We have heard about people coming back from the dead to correct their errors. It’s a haunting African mythology. Placing this side-by-side a love story gives us the right elements to tell a compelling tale,” it said.
While speaking exclusively to SHOCK, the writer, Joy Isi Bewaji, reveals her approach to developing the screenplay.
“It’s a romantic drama – sultry, exciting, fulfilling, and too good to be true. But then we put some vinegar in it – an overpowering reality takes over the narrative and changes everything,” she said.
