5. Call of My Life

Soluchi, a call-centre agent recovering from a breakup with her former boyfriend Kalu, answers a routine service call and connects with Eli, a charming Ghanaian man. Their conversations gradually rebuild her belief in love and lead to a relationship that tests and ultimately helps heal past wounds. Directed by Dammy Twitch in his feature debut, written by and starring Uzoamaka Power as Soluchi, with Andrew Yaw Bunting as Eli, Zubby Michael as Kalu, Beverly Osu, Nkem Owoh, Patience Ozokwor, Broda Shaggi, and Justin UG. Produced by Blessing Uzzi under Bluhouse Studios and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment. Released 15 May 2026. It has grossed 876.45 million in its 14th week.

4. Sweet 16

A privileged teenage girl counts down to an extravagant 16th birthday party and expects a luxury car as a gift. Her plans unravel when she is sent to the village for the summer and confronts family secrets, including the reality behind her father’s claimed wealth and her mother’s hidden life. The story blends comedy, drama, and personal discovery as she adjusts to a different environment and re-examines her assumptions. Written and directed by Willis Ikedum, produced by Wheels Pictures and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment. The cast includes Angel Unigwe, Kalu Ikeagwu, Uche Jombo, Mercy Aigbe, the late Alexx Ekubo, Denrele Edun, Yemi Alade, Ikechukwu Onunaku, Broda Shaggi, Julius Agwu and Chief Imo. Released 14 August 2026. It has taken 16.61 million in its first week.

3. The End of Oak Street

In 1982, the Platt family, aspiring novelist Denise, her husband Greg, their children Audrey and Brian, and their dog, live on Oak Street in suburban Michigan. A sudden cosmic event and tremors transport the entire neighbourhood into a prehistoric landscape filled with dinosaurs and ancient flora. The family must stay together and adapt to survive the new dangers while confronting their own tensions. Written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, produced by J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, and others under Bad Robot and Jackson Pictures, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Starring Anne Hathaway as Denise, Ewan McGregor as Greg, Maisy Stella as Audrey, and Christian Convery as Brian. Released 14 August 2026 in the United States (internationally from 12 August). It opened to 22.00 million in its first week.

2. The Odyssey

Odysseus, king of Ithaca, begins the long journey home after the Trojan War. He and his remaining men face storms, mythical creatures including the Cyclops, Sirens, and Circe, and the personal cost of years of war and absence while his wife Penelope and son Telemachus wait in Ithaca amid growing threats from suitors. Directed, written, and produced by Christopher Nolan for Syncopy, distributed by Universal Pictures. Starring Matt Damon as Odysseus, Tom Holland as Telemachus, Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya as Athena, Charlize Theron as Calypso, and others. Cinematography by Hoyte van Hoytema, music by Ludwig Göransson. Released 17 July 2026. It has reached 708.70 million in its fifth week.

1. Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Four years after the events that erased everyone’s memory of Peter Parker, he lives alone and works full-time as Spider-Man in a New York that no longer knows his name. The isolation and constant demands trigger physical changes in him while a powerful, body-hopping threat emerges that forces him to confront both the danger and the possibility of reconnecting with the people he once knew. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, and others for Columbia Pictures, Marvel Studios, and Pascal Pictures.
