The Story⚡
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me… or will they?
Lota Chukwu’s five-episode anthology series, Sticks and Stones, examines how one conversation can transform relationships, love, family ties, friendships, and personal identity.
Tell Me More
Sticks and Stones is a five-episode anthology series written, directed, and produced by Lota Chukwu through her company Cowrie Films. The series is structured as five standalone stories linked by theme rather than plot. It centres on relationships, love, family, friendships, identity, and faith. Each episode hinges on a single exchange that forces characters to examine what they value.
The cast brings together familiar faces from Nigerian screen work. Ireti Doyle, Bimbo Manuel, Femi Branch, Uzor Arukwe, Stan Nze, Meg Otanwa, Teniola, Chimezie Imo, Tope Olowoniyan, and Kelechi Udegbe appear across the episodes. The mix spans veterans with decades of stage and screen experience and actors known for recent lead roles, giving each story a grounded, lived-in feel.
