14011 Motion Pictures has started principal photography on its feature film The Killer: When the Masquerade Weeps, with shooting taking place in various locations across Oyo State. The narrative follows a hitman burdened by guilt who protects the daughter of a woman he killed. When her brother seeks revenge, the hitman confronts a choice between seeking forgiveness and returning to his familiar path of violence.

The film explores themes of remorse, vengeance, cultural identity, and the consequences of violent actions. Directed by Lanre Obisesan, it features a cast including Gabriel Afolayan, Keppy Ekpenyong, Omowunmi Dada, Tina Mba, and Rotimi Fakunle.

Obisesan describes the project as “a meditation on guilt and redemption, wrapped inside a tense thriller. The characters are flawed, conflicted, and painfully human. Our goal is to create a cinematic experience that is emotionally truthful, visually arresting, and deeply rooted in our culture.”

Producer Felix Olojede notes, “This film asks a simple but powerful question: can a man who has caused so much pain still find redemption? From a producing standpoint, that challenge is what excites me. We’re building a world where every choice has weight, every silence carries guilt, and every frame pushes the audience to confront the cost of violence. It’s a story that stays with you.”

The production company, based in Lagos, focuses on creating stories in film, television, commercials, and photographic art within Africa’s film landscape.

In Summary

Upon completion, the film aims for festival screenings and a theatrical release. It draws on Nigerian settings and cultural elements to examine personal and moral conflicts, offering viewers a look at the human side of violence and atonement through a thriller framework.
