The Story ⚡

Nemsia Studios’ latest psychological thriller, Thicker Than Water, arrives on Prime Video October 10th, delivering a haunting exploration of family bonds, investigative obsession, and the darkness lurking beneath Lagos’s surface.

Tell Me More

The film follows Ese, a 28-year-old photojournalist who travels to a sparsely furnished apartment in Ibeshe, Lagos, searching for her long-estranged sister. What begins as a simple search transforms into a harrowing investigation when Ese discovers her sister has been missing for months. The only clue: a journal chronicling her sister’s life in the apartment, revealing secrets that point toward inevitable tragedy.

As Ese reads deeper into the journal’s pages, her professional instincts as an investigator pull her into a web far more dangerous than she anticipated. The entries suggest connections to both supernatural occurrences and a ritual killing ring operating in the shadows of the city. Caught between paranormal terror and tangible threats, Ese must navigate two equally chilling possibilities while racing against time to uncover her sister’s fate.

Director Yomi E. Adejumo crafts an atmospheric thriller that examines how far one woman will go for family, even when every revelation brings her closer to danger. The Nemsia Studios production is executive produced by BB Sasore, produced by Joshua Enakarhire, with cinematography by Daanong Dwain.

Starring Bimbo Ademoye alongside an ensemble cast, *Thicker Than Water* blends investigative drama with supernatural horror, offering a uniquely Nigerian perspective on psychological terror.
