My Fairytale Wedding is a Nollywood rom-com trilogy that aims to reflect the diverse experiences of modern-day African women. This tells the story of a 29-year-old woman who, in a desperate bid to find love, turns to the mystical power of ‘kayanmata’—a love potion from a flamboyant seller.

MultiChoices confirms its first instalment in a trilogy film, My Fairytale Wedding at Fame Week 2024.

Directed by Dimeji Ajibola and produced by ChiChi Nworah, My Fairytale Wedding features Ramsey Nouah, Carolina Hutchings, Ini Edo, Kanayo O Kanayo, Daniel Etim, Uzor Arukwe, Lilian Esoro, Mercy Eke, Tina Mba, and Ayo Mogaji.

The 3 part movie shot in 2022 is executive produced by Chinenye Chichi Nworah, Ini Edo, Carolyna Hutchings, Abiye Alamina, and Waka Credit.

Tangent

Nollywood has a rich history of storytelling, but its engagement with trilogies only surfaced recently. Traditionally, Nollywood filmmakers focus on quantity over quality to meet high demand. However, over the years, as the industry evolved and explored more complex narratives, trilogies and multi-part films have emerged to tell longer, more intricate stories.

This new highlight will not only expand the expanding portfolio of MultiChoice, the leading entertainment company in Africa but also showcase Nollywood’s potential to tell compelling, culturally rich stories.

In Summary

MultiChoice is yet to announce a release date for this highly anticipated trilogy, My Fairytale Wedding. We look forward to its first part.
