Cartel
Cartel arrives on Kava on July 2. Produced by Elvis Chucks, this action thriller explores the operations of a dangerous drug syndicate in contemporary Nigeria. The story delves into power struggles, betrayals, drug trafficking, and family violence as characters navigate a criminal underworld where loyalty proves temporary, and survival demands constant vigilance. A woman infiltrates the cartel to rescue her brother caught in its web. The ensemble cast includes Bolanle Ninalowo, Clarion Chukwura, Eniola Badmus, Chika Ike, Broda Shaggi, Etinosa Idemudia, and others.
Ijakumo
Ijakumo also releases on Kava on July 2. This 2022 suspense thriller, directed by Adebayo Tijani and Steve Sodiya and written by Kehinde Joseph, follows a wealthy, flamboyant pastor living a double life who falls for an exotic dancer serving as a worship leader in his church. Unbeknownst to him, the relationship forms part of an elaborate revenge scheme planned by his scorned ex-lover, blending elements of romance, deception, action, and the supernatural. The film stars Toyin Abraham as the ex-lover, Kunle Remi as the pastor, Lolade Okusanya as the dancer, and additional cast members.
Love And New Notes
Love And New Notes comes to Kava on July 9. Directed by Kayode Kasum and produced by and starring Timini Egbuson, the romantic drama is set in 1980s Nigeria amid economic pressures from currency changes and import restrictions. It follows a young couple expecting a child, a woman with a stable job counting money, and her fiancé, a former shipping worker turned swindler, who face financial strain and moral dilemmas as he plans one final big score to secure their future, wedding, and unborn child’s life. The cast includes Timini Egbuson, Boma, Sophie Alakija, and others.
Yahoo+
Yahoo+, scheduled for Kava on July 9, is a 2022 crime thriller directed by Ebuka Njoku. The film follows two young men engaged in internet fraud (“Yahoo” scams) who encounter escalating complications and ethical dilemmas as their pursuit of fast wealth unravels. It examines the personal and societal fallout of such choices in a straightforward narrative. Key cast members include Ken Erics, Somadina Adinma, Ifeoma Obinwa, and supporting actors.
Fix Us
Fix Us arrives on Kava on July 16. Directed by Pascal Amanfo and produced by Yvonne Nelson, this drama follows three young women, Naadie, Chioma, and Jaya, as they embark on intertwined journeys of faith, personal trials, and fate that test their resilience and relationships. The Stand Up
The Stand Up releases on Kava on July 23. Okanjuwa
Okanjuwa, also on Kava July 23, is a drama from Inkblot Productions that centers on themes of greed (as the title suggests), family pressures, and social dynamics in modern Lagos. One storyline follows a hopeless romantic healing from a past heartbreak who reconnects with someone new through work, while broader narratives involve chaotic family events, influencer culture, and interpersonal conflicts. The film features Kunle Remi, Omowunmi Dada, Tomike Adeoye, Uzor Arukwe, and additional ensemble members.
Levi
Levi concludes the July releases on Kava on July 30. This 2019 drama, directed by Okechukwu Oku, portrays a successful tech entrepreneur who has long harbored feelings for his childhood sweetheart. After receiving a potentially fatal medical diagnosis, he impulsively seeks her out to marry and start a family before time runs out, only to discover she is already married and face the consequences of his choices.
